A New Mini Reunion: TeamD'71 at "The Prouty" in Hanover on July 11
Thanks to the initiative of Pete Webster, the Class of 1971 is launching what we hope will be an annual mini reunion at “The Prouty” in Hanover on July 11. Started in 1982 by four cancer care nurses who decided to bike 100 miles in honor of their patient Audrey Prouty, The Prouty has raised $78.5 million for the Dartmouth Cancer Center. And it’s great fun. Last year, 4,400 people biked, walked, rowed, and golfed for this worthy cause. And what could be better than a summer day in Hanover, NH. More than one hundred of us live in a one-hundred-mile radius of Hanover, making it a nice day trip.
Here’s how it works. If you want to bike, row, walk, or golf, just click on your activity and register as a member of “TeamD’71.” To donate just click on “Donate” and designate “TeamD’71 as the donee. All contributions will be matched dollar for dollar by the Byrne Foundation. As the event approaches, our team will arrange a meetup to celebrate the day.
This new mini reunion captures two essential elements of the Class of 1971—the spirit of giving and the spirit of fun and adventure. We hope you can join this mini as a participant or through a contribution. For more information, contact Pete Webster at weebs71@gmail.com.
