Getting Logged On

The good news is that if you are a member of the class of 1971, including adopted members, you already have a NetID.  Your NetID is created and maintained by Dartmouth college and is used to access certain college run websites--like Baker library online. This class site uses Dartmouth's NetID authentication system to grant full access and functionality to you, our classmates. If you don't know your NetID or have forgotten it, it is easy to look up.  Just click on the Login button on the upper right of the Dartmouth71.org landing page you were on and below the login credentials boxes, you will see a link to 'Lookup my NetID'.  Do that first and write it down of course.  Then, enter it and press the forgot my password link.  You will get a couple of options.  1) send a code to your email on file (preferred and the fastest--make sure the email they show is one you still use and can access) or 2) contact the Dartmouth Alumni Help desk by email or phone.  To be clear, the email and telephone on the right of the pop-up window are for Alumni, the other contact choices are for current Dartmouth students and staff.  Here are the contact choices for Alumni tech support.

Once you've looked up your NetID and gotten your password reset, you are good to go.  As a side note, if your email was incorrect with the college, now that you can access the full class website, you can update that email in the class directory and it and other contact information, such as snail mail address and phone numbers can be updated as well.  All changes you make on this site's directory are fed back to the college's records automatically on the first of each month.  Alternatively, click on the Dartmouth Quick Links button on our homepage and then choose the Dartmouth Alumni Relations link.  There you can update your information directly with the college--but you'll need your NetID and password again. Changes to your personal information made through Alumni Relations, take several months to update our website, so please update our website directory as well.

Special note to class widows and partners of deceased classmates.  The college has agreed to provide NetIDs for you if you wish to continue to stay engaged with the college and the class.  And we would really like you to stay engaged with us.  Widows and partners are equally important to us all and in many cases have been active participants with the class for years.  We want to continue our relationship with you.  We pressed for the college to do this and it is still in a trial period, so it is not automatic.  If you would like a NetID of your own (the college will eventually disable your classmate husband or partner's ID if you have been using that), please contact our class secretary, Alice Reno Malone at this email.  Secretary@Dartmouth71.org
